By random chance, I was reading through the blog of Rev. Bosco Peters, an Anglican in New Zealand. He has some very funny posts, including one on Song Of Solomon pick-up lines, and he appears to have quite a sense of humour himself (he's on Twitter under @Liturgy). He had a post that included a video from Pastor Steven L. Anderson, which I watched, and which mindboggled me. In that video, Pastor Steven L. Anderson claims men are officially prohibited from pissing standing up in public restrooms in Germany. See the video below, his claims on Germany start around 2.00 minutes into it.

His claim is flatly untrue. I live in Germany. His claim is quite simply not true. I've never even seen any hint of such a prohibition. I only blog about this at all because of his bizarre claims about Germany. I will add his claim about private bathrooms is odd; I've never encountered such prohibitions visiting anyone here in Germany, never even heard of that happening here.

Pastor Steven L. Anderson, who is apparently in Arizona, then goes on to claim that the problem with the USA is that there are male pastors in the USA who piss sitting down. And that the USA is under danger of Germanicization of American toilet habits, and I guess Germanicization of bodily fluids too.

This just flatlines my brain. Has the silly boy nothing bigger to worry about? I googled and found out that Pastor Steven L. Anderson is famous for hating on Obama and on Bush, and for hating on gays, and is fanatic in his defiance of Arizona policing. So I guess it all fits in, I guess. Definitely a case for @JesusNeedsNewPR to comment on.

It takes all sorts to make a world, but I can't help but feel some sorts are very superfluous to requirements.

Isn't the internet a wonderful thing, bringing folks like Pastor Steve right into your home anywhere in the world? It is so sad that people like this have a following, but no reason we should particularly pay them much attention (after all that is probably what they want).

One question haunts me though. How is it that Pastor Steve's wife KNOWS that "no man in Germany pees standing up?" (about 3 minutes in).

You have a habit of asking the most pertinent questions. Now I cannot stop thinking about that one.

Mind you, she's dead wrong. I wonder which one of them is making all this up.

    Totally bizarre and utterly untrue

    Greetings Gurdur

I am delighted to be quoted here!
    We are certainly in agreement!
And I love the title of your blog:
Stranger in an even stranger land.
I wonder how many get the allusion...

    All the best!

    Bosco

It would be just as possible that this idea had been passed down several levels and might have started as a joke, a misreading, or even from some of America's stupider WWII propaganda. So I would go light on the "making this up." However, at best, it goes in the realms of gossip, which is a problem in itself.

About the propaganda. Read Chamber's "Moonlit Way" sometimes if you want a taste of how Germans were thought of by some a century ago. Search for hun, boche, swine, etc.
WWII went up a notch in dirty propaganda and some of it might have filtered down to the present.

    I Hate Pastor Anderson!!!

I am SO GLAD for this opportunity to post anonymously, their blogs. They are all about censorship, which is why I have never gotten a single, solitary comment posted to any of their blogs! They also threw away my 18-year-old Battleship Texas postcard I'd kept since 4th grade and sent years 3 ago (Feb. 2011), never mentioning anything about homosexuality or their beliefs, and refused to add my city to their stupid little "Cantering the Country" map.

I have read the Bible cover to cover, and not ONE TIME is the word "Lesbian" mentioned, nor is there a female equivalent of Leviticus 20:13 nor a single homosexual female character from Genesis through Revelation, yet he preaches against us as though we're just as bad as the "Sodomites!"

Well, I stand by my belief 100% that lesbians are THE HEALTHIEST GROUP OF WOMEN ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH, and will do so until the day I die, most likely well after 100. We have the lowest annual coldrate (number of colds per year), I myself having not had one since I entered my 30's (I'm a 1983 Gemini, so do the math), and young children under 10, regardless of whether they attend school, daycare, a library book club, a church nursery, or just a regular church congregation like his where nurseries don't exist, are at the other end of the spectrum, averaging more than 6 colds per year!!!

So here I am on this cold, icy day, laughing my Lesbian ass off through a clear nose, thanks to my LACK OF KIDS and 8+ hours of sleep each night, while Zsuzsanna is on "modified bed rest," trying to save her 1 surviving twin boy from suffering the same fate as did his dead brother in there! I think it's hilarious that, despite them not going to school or eating fast food (i.e. McD's, BK, etc.), she and her kids STILL manage to catch colds/illnesses, and so does their "Superman" of a daddy!!! I have heard him sneeze, sniffle, and cough in so many of his sermons that it is UNBELIEVABLE and has me SO GLAD I'm over 10 hours away, not a member of a church, and a short-haired, pants-wearing, 30-year-old, CHILDLESS, VIRGIN LESBIAN!!!!!!! Muahahahahahahahah!!!!!!! Jealous BASTARDS!!!!!!!

    Sincerely,
Sender of Battleship Texas card with beautiful cursive penmanship in Feb. 2011
