On last Saturday, 28 January 2012, I managed to get down to the Tampa Power Station to visit their Manatee Viewing Center. This was the very first time I have seen manatees in person, and the trip was very much worth it. The Tampa Big Bend Power Station has built a manatee-viewing platform and center so that visitors can easily watch manatees without disturbing them; the manatees gather there owing to the warmed water pumped out into the bay by the power station.
