So I'm standing at an end display checking on the bananas, and there is a woman to my right, at a 90 deg angle to me with her back turned to me. She is checking out the red grapes. They were packed in those perforated zip-lock plastic baggies you know. She opens one up, eats about 3 or 4 of the grapes, re-seals the bag and puts it back on the display. She then repeats this little drill with another two or three bags!

Then she walks away without buying any grapes!

I wasn't sure where to put this but I did remember that Gurdur likes appropriate prefixes. :P

Anyway, I am a burgeoning author, mostly of children's books. I have one (self) published, two more children's books in the works and an adult horror/science novel I'm working on. I hesitate to call it science fiction because it's not really futuristic. I was 'casting about' for a legend or fairy tale to turn into 'reality' and the legend of the Rakshasa from the Ramayana popped into my head. I was going to add a supernatural element (they would have been able to teleport, so to speak, through mirrors) but I kind of shied away from that, at least for now. I want it to be as "reality based" as possible, and I even have an acquaintance (in another forum) who has a PhD in genetics to advise me on the biology of my 'monsters'. :)

So, "The Willigers" is my version of that, that I'm working on. :)


I even haz a pic of the first customer (one of my friends) that bought my first copy of my book!
