Yeah, I was kind of a loser and missed the "bacon" and "chocolate" groups. I'm a bad person.

Spring rolls, potstickers, and wasabi shumai. The last was easily the best of the three, though the other two were decent (that's saying something for potstickers, which I've never much cared for), but they went just a tad lighter on the wasabi than I like. There was enough wasabi in there to taste it, but not enough to be hot.
Sadly, they were still so delicious I ate the ones I bought before coming home, where I have plenty of wasabi. *sniffles* I need to learn to make that... |

Pita pizzas! What with all the food porn Blacksword's been posting lately, I felt the need some of my own...
Well, actually, he made me really want pizza. I was halfway through this one before getting the idea to take pics. Mine has the additional bonus of having a hot chick in it, primarily because I was having trouble getting the pizza in front of the webcam in any other position, and I happen to be a hot chick. This one turned out better. Yes, I use paper lunchbags as plates when I'm too lazy to wash dishes or dirty them. My pizzas: Consist of provolone, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese, layered in with portabello mushrooms and zucchini that I grilled, olives, and spinach over some diced, canned tomatoes that I treated to herbs and boiled into something resembling a halfway decent marinara. The whole thing went back on the grill till the cheese was melty and the crust was crisp. Yes, I have decided it is summertime, even if the weather seems to have some small disagreement with that point. I have briquettes, I have a barbecue, and I have no intention of using the stove between now and September unless some dire need comes up. Delicious, delicious pizzas. Also, more bananas on the 'cue tonight! |

Fruit and rice salad... bananas, mangoes, and nectarines in rice, with a little bit of honey and (yes, you did see something green there) a dash of pistachio pudding mix. |

I slow cooked some chicken and veggies in sherry, a can of roasted jalepenos, and a bunch of olive oil. Additional ingredients were garlic, fresh parsley, and fresh cilantro. The chicken is falling apart, and is surprisingly moist and tender, considering that it's breast meat... I had to shred it to put over rice, mostly out of necessity, because it wouldn't stay together when I pulled it out of the pot. It's not soggy, but decidedly well worked over by the sherry and hot peppers.
Also, my mouth has gone numb due to hot pepper overload, and I find this hilarious. Now for pudding! Last edited by Makbawehuh; 15-Jun-2011 at 05:14 AM (05:14). |

I was a bad girl and put soba in.
Green onions, seaweed, shiitakes, and smoked albacore from grandma with miso. The smoked tuna made a bitchin' broth for the soup... I love you, Grandma. |

You could just as easily make it with a vegetable broth or bullion instead of fish; I usually use seafood stock, but it can get kinda pricey to do it that way, and vegetable broth is a perfectly tasty alternative. The miso is heavy on the umami flavor, so it tastes fairly meaty without adding any when you're done.
Just make sure you have some sort of broth, and whatever you do, don't use canned tuna. Ew. |

Half the fun of making food is making it pretty. :P
You know, the pizza he and I posted about a while back were vegetarian. not vegan, due to cheeseness, but vegetarian. So it isn't as if you couldn't steal recipes from us that aren't totally safe for you. |

Made devilled eggs with powdered mustard instead of the stuff I usually use.
HOLY SHIT I forgot how uh... very... potent... Powdered mustard is. I have a sneaking suspicion I should eat these before the flavor has a chance to mingle and get really potent. My lunch tomorrow is already heartburn on a platter. Shit really cleans out your nose, though. I ate a couple. WHAT?! I love me some devilled eggs... |

I like pickled eggs, boiled eggs thrown into an empty jar of pickle juice after peeling of course, and let them sit in the fridge for day(s), cause I'm lazy.
Today I Have Nongshim Bowl Noodle Soup Hot and Spicy , 3 hours after lunch so more of a lupper. It has been sitting in my filing cabinet for way to long, it did not agree with my yesterday and I doubt it will today.

It's cheap ,that's for sure..... cleaning the pantry and keeping the fridge clear as the bank account already is, we are going on a vacation soon. I cringe thinking about tomorrow if I were to miss my opportunity to make a brown bag lunch tonight. |

Baked potato (just the potato that I nuked in the microwave, with no topping), scrambled eggs with bits of lil smokies sausages and cut up mushrooms in.
PRETENDING to be healthy, here! Edit: Also, dill pickles from teh mommeh. |

Baked potato, slathered in ranch, and bacon. Hey, I have three out of many food groups in there!
Now, if I find some way to finagle in some chocolate and coffee, I'll be golden. |

Gummy bears and pistachios for dinner... Now, for dessert, I've snacked my way through an entire package of sesame flavored nori snacks, and am currently, slowly, going through the wasabi flavored ones.
Upon realizing that I was going to be out of these very soon, I have finally broken down and ordered seaweed snacks in bulk online. I can get the teriyaki flavored ones that way, too. Since, y'know, I can't make it up to portland to the asian stores. |

Beef stew, mashed potatoes and peas. Made by me. Very nice, and the cat got none, despite being perched on my shoulder for much of dinner. Chocolate eclair for pudding later - not made by me this time.
