As far as creation stories go that's a pretty cool one.

Okay. It seems to mean that in the above posts, the usages of "cool" are not synonymous. Further to which, I almost never understand what people mean when they describe stuff from physics or cosmology as "cool". And even further to the above, here: http://www.rationalskepticism.org/ph...0.html#p586666 "cool", about this kind of story, appears to mean 'useful', which doesn't seem to be the case in either of the above posts.
In short, I'm collecting usages of "cool" apropos astronomy, cosmology and physics. Feel free to expand upon the meaning which you hoped that your reader would assume you to mean.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=cool

Looking at our usages, I would say they're pretty much meaning the same thing.

Do you mean that you both mean "neat-o, awesome, or swell"? In which case, can I feel confident in stating that "cool" is non-specific, something like a lexical grin?

Two posts split off to new thread. Ughaibu, do you think you could please be less aggro? It's rather inappropriate here, and the questions were asked in good faith.
