Default Why is it either Evolution or Creationism?

I mean i have heard and understand the arguments for both theories.
But neither of them make sense to me,
as in i do not believe either of them to be true.
Like they are both only theories

Because the evidence shows one of the "theories" to be fact.

Odd self-intro, BTW

No, they are not both "only theories".

First, a scientific theorem is an explanation, backed up by facts. It also must be testable, falsifiable, verifiable.

Evolution is a fact. Why it happens is explained by the theorem and it does fit that criteria.

Creationism is nothing but "goddidit". Not only does it not address WHICH "god" did it, but it has no backup. No explanation, no facts, no evidence, nothing. There is nothing to test, nothing to falsify, nothing to verify. It could be called a hypothesis but not a theory.

You know, I solved this whole issue years ago. I combined the two to form the theory that let's me sleep at night. Or maybe it just let's me drink in peace.

A powerful all seeing, all knowing force named Ralph created the Universe. In it he sprinkled the basic chemicals necessary to react in just the right way so that bliions of years later (about a month in Ralph's time zone), Life happened. In the meantime Ralph sits on his mighty lawn chair sipping black hole whiskey and laughing at what he has done.

All kidding aside, why can't the two beliefs, theories, ideas co-exist? In my opinion how it all started and who or what is responsible is not important enough that we waste so much panty bunching over it. What angers me is that the issue is woven so deeply into our current political landscape.

For some of us, finding the answer is important. For some of us, knowing the answer is what counts. And for folks like me, I just don't care.

Brilliant (Rafa), not too useful to make beliefs and judgements about things that don't make sense to you. If you're interested you can keep collecting information and try to understand, but as soon as you form an opinion you'll probably be wrong, so don't get too attached to those. Theories seldom work the way people think they should in practice, we can make theories, but we don't know practice in this case.

Every time someone says "only a theory" I die a little inside. If you've read the arguments for creationism and still think it's a theory then you need to keep reading.

If anything Creationism is a historical theory. Since the act of creation ex nihilo is a singular event that is not reproducible or falsifiable, it cannot fall in the realm of science. Trying to call Creationism a scientific theory is the same as calling the explosion of the nuclear weapon at Hiroshima a scientific theory.

Whenever Religion violates the dignity of mankind, it must be eradicated.

there are those that can find-merge a middle ground and those that find the definitions of the viewpoints so explicit that the two concepts are too contradictory for them.

education plays a role of course
