Default Catholic church ex-communicates medical team

Credit to AnnaH for her linking this story on Facebook. I thought it needed shared here.

A doctor, nurses and entire medical team along with the mother of a 9-year old girl were ex-communicated from the Catholic church because they aborted 4 month old twin fetuses from the child, allegedly there due to years of sexual abuse by her step-father. No, the step-father is not ex-communicated because rape is ok. Saving the life of a child is a sin. According to this particular religion that is. They did say that:

Quote:
The child was not excommunicated, Sobrinho said, because Catholic Church law says minors are exempt from excommunication.

"The church is benevolent when it comes to minors," he told Globo TV. "As for the adults, especially those who approved it, performed this abortion, the excommunication is applicable."
Um...yeah...killing the 9-year old along with the babies was benevolent. I'd be honored to be ex-communicated if I were in the position of those medical professionals.

"Some of the doctors vowed to continue attending church services, despite being expelled."

Some folks just don't learn.

Yes. Fair to them, it was the center of their lives; but yes, some won't learn.

OTOH maybe they are protesting by doing that?

Cardinal Keith O'Brien reckons that the BBC are biased against Christianity http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-11191992

If anything I would have said the editors and journalists of the BBC go out of their way to pander to religious sensitivities.

But the Cardinal states his claims are based on 'detailed research'.

Quote:
In an interview with the Sunday Times, Cardinal O'Brien said: "(Our) detailed research into BBC news coverage of Christianity in general and Catholicism in particular, together with a systematic analysis of output by the Catholic Church, has revealed a consistent anti-Christian institutional bias.
I am still trying to track down this 'detailed research' he is talking about.

LOL.

Yes, because it's terribly antichristian to dare be critical of the Church!

Anyone notice that he fails to name any of the "BBC Officials" who supposedly made all these admissions to him?
