Not that long term heat is all that unusual here, but I am getting really tired of it this year! Feeling foggybrained.

Unrelated: Need to lay my hands on somemonehs so I can buy a copy of the princess bride! And a couple other things... somehow, the zorro books aren't out of copyright yet.

But fun stuffs is had, and most of my preferred reading material is free anyways. Not hurting any right now, lol!

2 things: 1st the dry 90s plus heat finally is breaking. Down to 80s and 70s so say the forecast. The usual "possible" isolated thunderstorms. For some reason, the heat bothered me more this year - maybe just getting old?

2nd the books and movies I want are all free to me - library! And since I'm on the Outreach Service I can keep the DVDs up to 3 weeks. What's so fine is that interlibrary loan can supply me with nearly any book ever printed so long as there's a borrowable copy in the US of A. Interesting to see how far any book might have traveled to come to me. That's another positive thing living where I do - that our library districts are so accommodating. I've heard some tales from elsewhere that they cannot get any book that is not physically present in their library.

Of course, for those with eyes that can handle it, there's Kindle and Nook!

The heat broke and we've had some really good rains. I feel so much better, not so frazzled, and even have a bit of energy. Between rains, I even got outside to do some yard stuff. And the bluegrass looks a lot better, too.

Sure quiet around here lately. And around here in Colorado, too. The 4th was pleasant this year with the ban on fireworks due to the extreme fire danger. Just a few pops on the evenings of 3 and 4. So dog J didn't have to spend too much time in the closet.

This morn he got a car trip to the vet for his nail clip and butt check (anal glands for you non dog folks.) AOK.

I'm enjoying the lesser temps so I can be out and doing some yard stuff.

Still quiet around here! Where is everybody? Too busy enjoying summer? Or winter on the other half of the globe?

My local library has lots of books but it seems like the ones I want are never in- It's what comes of being in a poor, rural county in a poor, mostly rural state. It's get the book hard copy or Kindle, or go without most of the time. And truth be told, I like getting things myself- There's no due dates when I own it!

I haven't had internet, and I've been really busy, so even if I did have it, I probably wouldn't be on it. I'll be around some on weekends, but not too much.

That's not good, man. You gotta get to being very professional about your own fine self.

Hope you're feeling better now.
