....It's a little heavy and deliciously round... There's a faint scent like macaroons on the eerie morning fog. No! It can't be!

Fizzle found he could not withdraw his tentacles, and could not see what they were gripping, or what was grippping them. Or was tentacular fondling the more accurate description? Overhead the dark pulsating sky loomed over Fizzle and his struggle, pulsatingly loomily. Possibly an Old One? Or a monster from space? Or even -- gods forbid! the Old Ones forfend! -- a summoned Makbawehuh in his tentacular clutches ----- and vice versa!

*and o yea did Fizzle give thanks and praise to the Great Old Ones for the privilege of being gifted with the opportunity to tentacle-grop someone with a really dirty mind, until her tentacles found his... okay, not really.*

And lo, did the rolling mist part and trumpets did blare, and Fizzle beheld his doom...

For it was no vixen of figure squishy! No, in the eldritch gloom there was before him the horror of the tropical seas! It was...

Oh my god, what have you people done to this thread? It was an intelligent, lively debate. Now it is a horrible, rotting monstrosity, the grave-cold corpse of a thread repeatedly reanimated through the most horrible, mind-warping forms of necromancy known by the Elder Ones.

The real question is whether initial life forms were rna/dna based. Even the very simplest in existence is incredibly complex to have happened randomly. They have figured out how very simple amino acids which are "building blocks" of life could have been formed from primordial components and electricity, these are still a long way from being sustainable or able to reproduce. If rna/dna based forms could come from simpler forms that were able to sustainably reproduce and evolve life may be fairly common in the universe. If rna based forms were the initial form of life it would be an incredible coincidence and we may be alone in the universe.

Just read (the part of the thread that made sense). Oh, it was supposed to be philosophical, of course the origin of life is completely unreasonable, as is almost everything, to think otherwise is a human illusion, so you get to keep the 20$, money is also completely unreasonable, but people like money and people like reasons for things.

That wouldn't require a Will save from us. It would require an attack roll from you.

On a completely unrelated note, What D&D Character Are You?

My results:

Spoiler:
Lawful Good Human Wizard (1st Level)

Ability Scores:
Strength- 9
Dexterity- 15
Constitution- 12
Intelligence- 18
Wisdom- 11
Charisma- 14

Alignment:
Lawful Good- A lawful good character acts as a good person is expected or required to act. He combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He tells the truth, keeps his word, helps those in need, and speaks out against injustice. A lawful good character hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good is the best alignment you can be because it combines honor and compassion. However, lawful good can be a dangerous alignment because it restricts freedom and criminalizes self-interest.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Wizards- Wizards are arcane spellcasters who depend on intensive study to create their magic. To wizards, magic is not a talent but a difficult, rewarding art. When they are prepared for battle, wizards can use their spells to devastating effect. When caught by surprise, they are vulnerable. The wizard's strength is her spells, everything else is secondary. She learns new spells as she experiments and grows in experience, and she can also learn them from other wizards. In addition, over time a wizard learns to manipulate her spells so they go farther, work better, or are improved in some other way. A wizard can call a familiar- a small, magical, animal companion that serves her. With a high Intelligence, wizards are capable of casting very high levels of spells.

I am not a scientists but, it seems to me that life was not an accident. That would be like saying matter is an accident. Or a stone is an accident. Where there is matter and energy there is life in one form or another. This planet is filled with both. Its has ideal climate for our type of life. Its not a horrendous planet i think its a wonderful planet filled with delightful diversity.
Our type of life is probably not the only type out there. There could be vastly different life forms from energy to moldish things.
Is energy and accident or is matter? It exists there fore it had to be for the universe to exist. Or other universes or dimensions or what ever you believe.
