It's not that she's a bad person or anything, it was just one of those "That's never going to happen to me!" sorts of things. Oops! lol.

I have a damned mouse/palm rat getting into my condo at night. Had the pest control guy over and he set traps. Last night the little shit left his calling card on the kitchen counter again, and never went near the traps.

Bugger.

Doncha just hate that! I occasionally have mice getting into the crawl space and then up into the house. I had one once do the counter thing and take the bait without tripping the trap - till I got the really old fashioned kind. The ones with that plastic bait holder are useless. I do see that they prefer cheese over peanut butter - one got caught in the cheese trap after it went around first one with the peanut butter.

What a wonderful week with my friend's greyhound, Bella, staying with Jackson and me for a few days. Makes up for the horrendous RL glitches I had to deal with. Dogs can sure be a comfort. And this coming Friday my friend is going to take me to lunch at a great Italian restaurant as part of her thank you.

Here's hoping for a day we don't have to dodge tornadoes. My goodness, it's been a mess here in Oklahoma.

Been reading about it - terrible, terrifying, so tragic.

Here at the far western edge of Tornado Alley, what we get are small, baby ones compared to those.

Got a new mowing company - reliable, polite young men on the crew, great job. Now I get the whole works mowed and trimmed, even the prairie lawn of mixed native grasses. Same price as if I had just the bluegrass lawn done!

Been a real problem this year finding a good company after my old one messed up royally by not showing up 3 times in a row!

Ugh, graveyard, I hate you...

Gurdur, you need to spread the news in Europe that people over there need to stop having webcasts that I have to produce. *grumps*

Maybe you should follow The Chirurgeon's Apprentice on Twitter or FB. She does graves a lot. She does skulls even more.

I record Webcasts for corporate execs, and I got a European series that is going on through Sept. Or Oct. Of this year... Hence the graveyard shifts.

Haven't done "graveyards" since I was in college and staying up all night for study or writing papers!

Right now I'm thinking how lovely it will be today since my BF and I are going to breakfast!

I'm in and out briefly. Always working. Either at my job or at home with a house full of people. I need to run away.

Shitty shitty shitty day... my boyfriend and his ex wife were fighting earlier, and i ended up having flashbacks all evening from my parents divorce and custody battle over myself and my brother. The icing on the trauma cake is that i somehow ended up working with one of the ditzy evangelical Christians i work with, and had to try to smile and nod my way through her talking about how her God makes all her dreams come true. A long walk fixed most of my issues, but i know that i have to work with her again tomorrow. Now is booze time, and it turns out that gin is -perfect- in pear juice.

Days like that are such a pain.

Today I've felt as if it's Sunday. All day. Odd.

Labor Day, a day to honor labor by not working. Quiet around here, very peaceful.

Labor day, the day when your boyfriend decides to pose as Ariel from the Little Mermaid on a rock, and then you eat tuna salad that has been warm too long.

Oops.

At least the first one looks good on Facebook, and was the focus for much tipsy-singing in the living room when friends came over.

Got laid off at the beginning of May and have been looking for work ever since. I had a really good interview on 8/14 and am still waiting to hear back about that. I've received several notices after following up, that I am still in the running, but still waiting. Hate this waiting game, though.

Bummer! I keep hearing from a lot of folks job hunting. Getting tough out there. Sure makes me glad I'm retired already.

Sorry to hear this Shake. I've actually lost track of what kind of work you're doing these days. I remember what you used to do, and then I seem to recall you had gone back to school. So, if you don't mind me asking, what field are you looking for work in? And good luck on the results you're waiting for.

, , ,how with all the disastrous flooding along the Front Range in Colorado from the long lasting and heavy rains, out here on the far SE side of Metro Denver, we don't see any flooding at all. If I'd not read or heard about the problems, I'd not have known there were any.

National Guard and FEMA called in. Folks killed by being washed away on foot or in their cars. Homes destroyed, some dorms in Boulder flooded to the second floors, folks evacuated, roads closed. Some areas are already designated disaster areas.

Thought I would poke my nose in. Its been a while, and its been a hard week, and so I was thinking about the Hub this morning.

Had a family friend die this week. Apparently I am the only one she told her life expectancy (3-6 months) to when she last visited. For some reason, I thought she had told people who were closer to her than I was.
