Ever since I was a little girl, I daydreamed about a day when I could use my glasses as a monitor, and walk around with an augmented reality display in real life. Thanks to Innovega, my childhood dream may become a reality. Right now they are working on different kinds of displays, but the basis of these is formed from a contact lense with a nanoparticle display. One of the designs that is currently being worked out for the consumer market involves a lightweight device that attaches to the earpieces of glasses, and couples with the contact lenses to create a display on the inside of the glasses themselves. Or, so says PopSci. Still poking around the Innovega website, but all in all, this is very exciting stuff.
